Luca Xodo is the sitting chair of ETIP-Geothermal (European Technology and Innovation Platform), where he helps shape the European research and innovation agenda for geothermal and engages with EU institutions, national governments, and industry on the policy and regulatory frameworks the sector needs to scale. He is also the Sales and Engagement Director at the internationally recognized geothermal technical advisory firm, STEAM.
Luca holds two master's degrees, one in Business Administration in the Energy Industry (Scuola Mattei, Eni Corporate University) and one in Energy Engineering (Politecnico di Milano). This dual background lets him connect engineering decisions with the investment and financing logic behind geothermal projects.
In his first ten years in geothermal he gained deep experience in ORC binary plants, a formative period that set the foundations for his current expertise in geothermal power plant technologies. In recent years he has continued to expand his skillset across consulting services for resource assessment, drilling engineering, engineering and construction of brownfield and greenfield projects, mineral extraction, and feasibility studies, as well as technical due diligence and independent engineering for lenders, development finance institutions, and investors.
Luca is the author and co-author of several scientific papers, a passionate lecturer and capacity builder, and an experienced moderator and conference chair who regularly brings together developers, financiers, and policymakers.
