Kim Gunn Maver, PhD

Co-Founder and Chief Geologist, Green Therma

Biography

Kim Gunn Maver has extensive global energy service company experience within management, strategy and sales. He has a Ph.D. in geology from Copenhagen University and MBA from Copenhagen Business School.

Kim is one of the 4 founders of Green Therma in February 2023 and is the Chief Geologist based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Green Therma has developed a new well solution using pipes with a vacuum to produce geothermal heat from the deep subsurface and deliver it directly to the district heating network using virtually no electricity.

Using technology, knowhow and people from the oil and gas industry this solution can be implemented most places and can be a key part of Europe’s green transition.

The geothermal well solution is currently being installed in a well north of Berlin and late this year Green Therma will drill a 4.5 km deep well with a 2.5 km horizontal section at Aalborg and deliver heat to Aalborg Forsynning for the next 30 years.
